MFID II - Markets in Financial Instruments Directive is a regulation that increases the transparency across the European Union's financial markets and standardizes the regulatory disclosures required for particular markets.
MFID II/MiFIR became effective January 3rd 2018. A key objective of this new European legislative framework is to strengthen investor protection and improve the functioning of financial markets making them more efficient, resilient and transparent - refer to specific MFID II Transparency Rules.
